Which stainless steel should I choose ?

All types of stainless steel that we offer are food compatible, and non-magnetic.

Quel inox choisir pour une plaque inox

Brushed stainless steel

Exemple d'inox brossé

Brushed stainless steel is the most popular stainless steel, thanks to its very aesthetic side. The brushed stainless steel is a stainless steel 304 or stainless steel 304L, with a nickel-chromium alloy, which is food-compatible. A brushed stainless steel plate can therefore be placed in a kitchen.

Moreover, as it is a stainless steel, it is therefore very resistant to corrosion by moisture and can very well be used both indoors and outdoors. However, it should be avoided in an atmosphere that is too polluted. The stainless steel is brushed on only one side, since the other is intended to be fixed and will not be visible. The brushed face, which will be visible, is protected by a PVC film to avoid scratches or other traces of handling, to guarantee you a beautiful plate clean upon receiving!

Thus, you can use a brushed stainless steel plate to decorate for example your kitchen or your bathroom.

Crude bright stainless steel

The bright stainless steel is a thin stainless steel, which is between 1 and 3 millimeters thick. This stainless steel, cold-rolled, is naturally shiny. Like brushed stainless steel, it is food compatible. However, unlike brushed stainless steel, bright stainless steel is only popular due to its practical and useful side rather than aesthetic. Attention also to the level of appearance, one should not confuse the bright appearance and mirror appearance, the bright stainless steel is not a stainless mirror. The aspect is between the mat and the mirror, it is a bit satiny.

This kind of stainless steel is therefore mainly used in restaurants or for other professional uses, for example for worktops. Bright stainless steel is popular in food sector, for intensive use. It can also be used alongside garden tools; Since these are plates that do not require a primordial aesthetic aspect.

Raw/crude stainless steel

The raw stainless steel is a 304 stainless steel with a rough appearance and can have marks and scratches: hot-rolled stainless steel sheet. Very resistant, it does not rust and is a food grade stainless steel. Just like the bright crude stainless steel, this will not give a purely aesthetic piece, but useful, due to its great thickness. Regarding its appearance, the raw stainless steel has a slightly grainy appearance like orange peel.

Proposed thicknesses: 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, and 12mm

Its use is rather varied, but is only chosen for its practical side, since these are not parts of appearance. It is with raw stainless steel that we manufacture stainless steel flanges.

Crude marine stainless steel

Marine stainless steel, also called marine stainless steel or 316L, is an austenitic stainless steel. It contains molybdenum, which makes it highly resistant to corrosion, especially to chlorine and seawater. 316L stainless steel is food compatible, but also non-magnetic, so it does not attract ferrous metals. This type of stainless steel is mainly used in the chemical industry, but it can also be used indoors and outdoors even by private individuals. Marine stainless steel is therefore particularly preferred in marine or saline environments, or in highly polluted environments. This 316 stainless steel is resistant to corrosion and rust. Raw 316L stainless steel may have marks and scratches, as does raw stainless steel 304 shown above.

For the bright marine stainless steel, it has all the properties stated above, and as the name indicates, it has a somewhat bright appearance, but it is not a mirror aspect.

Ultimately, a raw stainless or shiny stainless steel plate has the same appearance as raw stainless steel or glossy stainless steel, and is perfect for cooking, boats, corrosive environments, or for tinkering.

Proposed thicknesses : 4 - 5 - 6 - 8 - 10 and 12 mm

Example : same aspect as the crude and bright 304L respectively

Non-slip stainless steel

The non-slip stainless steel is a stainless steel with a crude appearance. It is stainless, as the name suggests, so there is no specific treatment to do. The non-slip plates have a special surface with relief that gives it non-slip properties. It is the ridge on the plate that give it its non-slip side. In any type of environment, our plates will retain this specificity, thanks to their solidity and their weight.
